Shannon's Spring Staff Picks:
Shannon picked the Dried Flowers Letter Writing Set, Pipsticks Tea-riffic Blends, Large Paper Flake Stickers - Flower and Pipsticks Nature's Party Washi Collection. The Large Paper Flower Flake Stickers from Japan are perfect for decorating your journals and planners! As a big tea drinker, the Tea-riffic Blends sticker sheet from Pipsticks is so perfect for Shannon. Plus the floral teas are so cute and just right for spring! We love the story behind the Dried Flower writing set! This Furukawa Paper Co writing set is made in Japan from Mino washi paper, which is a type of Japanese paper made in Gifu prefecture. The paper is made from paper mulberry which is a plant that grows in the city of Mino, a place of abundant forests. This paper has a lovely soft texture and the pattern is so pretty!
The new Nature's Party Pipsticks Washi Collection is so cute! Pipsticks washi tape is amazing paper tape that's removable with just the right amount of tack. It's perfect for crafting, wrapping and decorating everything in your life! Use it on your planner, bullet journal, inspo wall, snail mail, ANYTHING!!
Lisa's Spring Staff Picks:
Lisa picked the Perfect Picnic stickers from Pipsticks, Kitta flower washi tapes, You Were Born With Wings Journal and The Botanists Sticker Anthology.
Of course Lisa picked the cute picnic stickers, we can totally see Lisa setting up a picnic on the grass with her journal or a book and her sweet Greyhound, Gemma!
We love that the KITTA washi tape strips are so portable for journaling and planning on the go! They're already cut into strips for easy access and you can just pop them in your pencil case or bag to save room!
We love these Compendium Write Now Journal's! They're filled with beautiful illustrations and quotes, are printed with soy ink and made from sustainably sourced paper and are super easy to take wherever you go. Write down your ideas, thoughts and notes in the prettiest journal! Filled with birds, florals and grass green and pink colour pops, the You Were Born With Wings Journal is totally a spring vibe!
The Botanists Sticker Anthology is the ultimate spring floral companion, it's filled to the brim with botanical illustrations of florals, butterflies, insects and bees. We all love this one so much!
Emily's Spring Staff Picks:
Emily has picked the new Paper24 Gold Flower Bullet Journal, Flowers Me-Time Memo Pad, Garden Resfeber Letter Writting Set and the Flower 'Drawing' Series Stickers.
Emily loves daisies and sunflowers, so this baby yellow bullet journal with a golden flower decal and gold edged pages is right up her alley! Paper24 Bullet Journal's also have thick pages that stop bleeding and ghosting, so they're great for mixed media and a wide variety of pens!
The letter writing set, memo pad and stickers all go so well together, like a cute little garden! We love the water colour illustrations so much! The Flowers Me-Time Memo Pad has a range of cute illustrations, these would also be perfect for sticking in your planners or journals to highlight quotes, or important messages! The Mind-Wave Flowers 'Drawing' Series stickers are printed on semi-transparent washi paper so will blend into your pages nicely!
Bec's Spring Staff Picks:
Bec picked the Rifle Paper Co Garden Party Lined Notebook, Pastel Colours Pentel Brushsign pens and BGM Travel Diary deco stickers - Flower Garden.
If you love that vintage collage style look, but still want a spring feel, these Travel Diary deco stickers are the ticket! Get the feel of a spring holiday in your journal or planner. They're also perfect for adding in notes or photos.
The Pentel Brushsign Pens Pastel Colours are the perfect spring colour palette for your planners and journals! We love these pens for writing quotes, headings and titles and they're also a great beginner pen for hand lettering, with a flexible tip for medium to thin lines.
Featuring beautifully hand painted illustrations by Anna Bond, the Rifle Paper Co Garden Party lined notebook is a spring vibe!
Spring Journal Prompts:
1. Draw your favourite flower.
My favourite flower is the sunflower! I had them in my bouquet at my wedding. I love how big and bright they are! They always make me so happy. Would you have a go at drawing your favourite flower? I looked at a few google images first and then did a sketch with pencil in my journal. Next I used a Tombow Fudenosuke hard tip pen to draw the lines and coloured it with my Mildliner Brush Pens! I couldn't resist adding a few swatches of my new sunflower washi tape as well! It's so cute!
2. Decorate a spring themed title page or quote.
I think the Blossom Acrylograph pens would make the perfect colour palette for a spring themed title page! We also have so many cute floral stationery items, gardening stickers and washi tapes, if you're not confident with drawing!
I created a cute page of Spring themed doodles using the new Moonlight Gelly Roll Gel pens in Earth Colours. The fresh green and lavender felt like perfect spring colours and I love how the Gelly Roll gel pens feel a bit like a paint pen with their opaque ink.
3. List 5-10 things that remind you of spring.
What reminds you of spring? Can you think of a special memory from spring-time, a smell, a food, or an activity that you like to do during spring? Try and think outside the box about something that is unique to you!
Spring-time makes me think of coming out of hibernation and starting to enjoy lots more social time, my birthday and all of the fun local festivals like the Swell Sculpture Festival in Currumbin! It's my favourite and I love riding my bike down to the beach to see the sculptures.
4. Plan a spring bucket list!
What's on your spring bucket list? I'm so keen for a bush walk, more swims and picnics and seeing more events this spring!
It looks like we'll be getting lots of rain as well, so I'm ready for more creative projects and doing a little soul searching in the new DreamyMoons guided journals.
5. Make a spring watch list or reading list.
Here's our spring watch list!
1. The Secret Garden
2. A League of Their Own
3. 10 Things I Hate About You
4. Notting Hill
5. Pride and Prejudice
7. The Sound of Music
8. Big Fish
9. Memoirs of a Geisha
10. Marie Antoinette
6. Create a flower garden mood tracker.
I loved creating this Mood Garden flower garden mood tracker! First I sketched out the flowers in pencil, then I outlined them with a Dingbats Atopen, added colour and a key with Mildliner Brush Pens and numbered the flowers. I made a little mistake with my numbering, but that's ok it still worked out in the end!
I wanted to focus this mood tracker on my alertness to gauge how tired I am throughout the week and which days I'm the most tired!
7. Have an outdoor journaling session.
Write about what you can see, hear & smell. Write about how you are feeling in this moment. Add a sketch if you feel compelled to!
8. Make a spring cleaning check-list.
Oh geez do I need to make one of these!! I used the Mildliner Brush pens to highlight my to do list lines and illustrations and the Tombow Fudenosuke Hard Tip Brush Pen to write over the top and add details. I'm happy with how my cute clothes line turned out!
9. What are 3 habits you'd like to start this spring?
I'd like to start waking up earlier, now that the sun is rising earlier. I'd also like to schedule in morning stretch time before I start my day and drink more water at work!!!
10. If you could accomplish one goal this spring, what would it be?
I'd really love to start going to more events, like going to exhibitions and seeing live music again! I've definitely been a shut-in during winter. Anyone else?
Thanks for tuning in! We hope this blog post has gotten you in the mood for spring! It's time to fill your planners and journals with all the florals!!!
